I guess the fans would have been unhappy to see Lip go after just losing Fiona but his storyline was mostly just being a Dad anyway this past season.
While I think it was very unfair to Liam, it kinda pushed the others to start taking more charge of their own lives. I am sure Lip felt like he would be abandoning his family just like Fiona, but really it did not seem like the rest of the family harbored a ton of resentment toward Fiona for leaving. That is Helene Runyon, a gorgeous and twisted character that was an unnecessary addition to. One would wonder whether the writers on Shameless sometimes sit around a fire roasting marshmallows, and bet each other who would can up with the most useless character on the show. I think she just wanted to start their family away from all the Gallaghers and their problems and needs, which is really pretty fair. 5 Replaceable: Helene Runyon Was An Unnecessary Addition To Shameless. I know when I was a new mom and trying to figure things out it was difficult enough without being in a cramped home with like 7 other people (not to mention Anne’s entire extended family). She did not grow up in their neighborhood and has only been around for a year. I understand why Lip wants to stay near his family, but he seems to forget that Tami does not share the same connection to the rest of the Gallagher family.
